Dr Cat Hope is an active composer, sound artist, noise soloist and ensemble director. Cat’s research, composition and performance practices focus on low frequency sound, drone, noise, improvisation and digital graphic notations. Her works have been performed at festivals internationally and broadcast on Australian, German and Austrian radio. Her noise music has been toured in Japan, released internationally and as part of the Extreme Music From Women collection on Susan Lawly and on labels such as Gods of Tundra and Kibutsuri Tapes. Her work has been discussed in books such as Loading the Silence (Kouvaris, 2013), Women of Note (Appleby, 2012), Sounding Postmodernism (Bennett, 2011) as well as periodicals such as The Wire (UK, 2013), Limelight (Aus, 2012) and Neu Zeitschrift Fur Musik Shaft (Ger, 2012). She is also the musical director of Decibel New Music Ensamble.

Le sua ricerca, composizione e le perfomance musicali, si focalizzano su suoni a bassa frequenza, droni, noise, improvvisazione e notazioni grafiche digitali.
